Recipe for Pink Hot Chocolate

MIX INGREDIENTS :

2 C non-fat dry milk powder ~ 1/4 C sugar ~ 1/8 tsp salt

1 1/2 C white chocolate chips (finely chopped in food processor)

1/2 C powdered non-dairy creamer ~ 2/3 C red cinnamon candy (processed to a fine powder)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Measure all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk them until they are evenly blended. If you’d like a finer texture to your Cocoa Mix process in your food processor until you get the look you desire!

The fabulous ingredients in the mix are the red hot cinnamon candies and white chocolate chips that are finely chopped (separately) in a food processor. They melt when combined with the boiling water and give the cocoa an extra rich cocoa and cinnamon-ie flavor. The recipe makes enough for five Cones! Cones can then layered with mini marshmallows, assorted candies and chocolates. Don't forget to include a sweet tag with your instructions:

Tag Instructions: Spoon 3 or 4 generous tablespoons of cocoa mix into your cup (depending on the size), add boiling water, and stir well. Garnish with candies and marshmallows! (Each Cone makes approximately 4 servings)

HOW TO MAKE CONES:

A fun wintertime favorite, hot cocoa with all the trimmings takes on an even sweeter look packaged as a cone confection. They make sweet, romantic gifts that are sure to please!

INGREDIENT AMOUNTS for ONE CONE:

2/3 C pink cocoa mix (recipe above)

2 (6- by 12-inch) cone-shaped cellophane bags (available at party stores)

2 clear rubber bands ponytail bands)

Scissors

1/4 C white or milk chocolate chips

1/2 C mini marshmallows

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

Place 2/3 C Cocoa Mix into one of the bags. Close the bag with a clear rubber band and trim the end of the bag about 1” above the band. Take a small paper doilie and cut it into four triangles.  Wrap one of the triangles around the tip of the cone so it looks like it has been tipped in lace.  Then  insert the entire bag into another cone bag and flatten its top so the end doesn't stick up.

Layer the chocolate chips and the marshmallows. Top with other treats like crushed starlight mints or other chopped candies. Secure bag with the other rubber band and decorate as desired!  You can take another paper doilie, fold in quarters, but off the tip and slide it over the cello top, squeeze the doilie at the bottom and wrap a pretty ribbon around it.  Add the tag, maybe a jingle bell in pink (I have to spray paint mine), or a snowflake - great gift idea.
